John began attending LIFE's Adult Day Center after a stroke, which caused loss of mobility in his legs. John stated, "I was wheelchair bound when I first started coming here about eight years ago, but now I use a cane, and can do the same things others can do." With continued exercise, and physical therapy at the Center, John was able to gain mobility and participate in activities that he couldn't when he first started attending.
"The staff found out what activities I would like, and what I wanted to accomplish," said John. "They also help me remember to take my medication, and I know that all of my medical needs will be met. They also have a stylist that comes in once a week, and someone that can trim nails for those who want to take care of that while they are here."
John also participates in Tai Chi, arthritis exercise classes, movie Fridays and other regular activities at the Center. He's learned how to use a computer, and now teaches others. John is also the go-to guy for computer designed cards and certificates.
John encourages those who would benefit from LIFE's Adult Day Services to check it out, "The staff are friendly, and the participants and staff help you out."

Three years ago, when I turned 65, I needed to choose a Medicare Part D plan, and I wasn't sure what to do. I had been involved with LIFE Senior Services for a long time, so I asked them to help.
I have a medical condition which requires expensive prescriptions, so I wanted to get the most out of my plan. When I came for my appointment, I brought my prescription list and we used the Medicare Plan Finder to evaluate the best options for me. I come back each year to re-evaluate my plan. Last year I saved about $2,000 by switching plans.
The LIFE staff is wonderful, and I have referred friends to their seminars. I would say if you have questions regarding Medicare and Part D, call LIFE Senior Services at (918) 664-9000.

I first heard about LIFE's Senior Centers 20 years ago from my mom. Now I teach both beginners and advanced Tai Chi at Southminster Senior Center. With Tai Chi it doesn't take long to see the positive benefits including improved balance, decreased stress, and improved respiration and circulation with the deep breathing that accompanies the movements.
Elizabeth also participates in other activities at the center, including basketball and pickleball. As she says, "Physical activity has always been a part of my life. And with an affordable membership rate, I highly recommend people check out everything the senior centers have to offer."

After I retired from 22 years in federal law enforcement, I knew I wanted to volunteer. A friend suggested LIFE's Adult Day Services. It felt like a good fit as I lost my mom to Alzheimer's in 2009.
Coping with mom's illness was very rough, but I was inspired by an activities director in her assisted living facility who was a tremendous help throughout my mom's transition.
When I volunteer at LIFE's Adult Day Center, the participants always put a smile on my face. We play games, exercise read stories, play dominoes, do crafts and bowl.
I always come home better than I was before. The staff is so sweet, and I receive a lot of joy from the participants. If I can make one precious lady laugh, or get one of the participants to do the twist, it makes my day.
