Buried in Treasure: Understanding & Treating Hoarding Disorder One Day Event

This workshop will provide a broad overview of hoarding disorder and useful interventions. A model for understanding these hoarding problems will be presented, including recent findings regarding hoarding behaviors, emotional attachments and beliefs about possessions. DSM-5 diagnostic criteria will be reviewed along with methods for assessing the severity of the problem. Intervention strategies will be reviewed in detail, including ways to enhance motivation among hoarding clients, how to establish goals for treatment. Potential roles for family members or friends be described, along with strategies for preventing future clutter problems. Click here for an informational brochure.

Free Community Presentation on Hoarding Disorder

The community presentation by Dr. Frost will include a description of hoarding disorder, its effect on individuals and families, and steps you can take to deal with the issue. The role of the hoarding task force and Buried in Treasure workshop will be discussed as well.
