Seminars, Training Opportunities and
LIFE Senior Services regularly offers professional training and continuing education opportunities for health, aging and social services professionals.
LIFE's Community Information & Assistance Training (CIAT) is offered at least twice every year. CIAT is an intensive two-day workshop that features experts from both government agencies and area non-profits presenting the latest information on benefits, resources and services for older adults and adults with disabilities. Frequent speakers include representatives from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Social Security, and the Veteran's Administration. Other topics may include essential legal documents, behavioral health issues, local and county resources, and day, home and community-based services.
(Who should attend CIAT? Home Health Administrators, LPC/LMFT, Social Workers, Case Managers, Discharge Planners, In-home and Community-based Service Providers, and others in the health, aging and social services network)
LIFE also offers other seminars and training opportunities throughout the year. Among many others, topics may include Medicare and Social Security, Alzheimer's disease, elderly abuse and exploitation, and behavioral health issues.
